Philippine retailer Puregold Price Club Inc, in partnership with AirAsia, unveiled its first of two plane liveries featuring its official name and logo prominently displayed on both sides of the body of an Airbus A320 aircraft. Puregold President Vincent Co said, “Like all things that we have been doing since we started our retail chain in 1998 up to our Initial Public Offering in 2011, this day heralds a perfect opportunity for Puregold to expand our brand’s reach. Our partnership with AirAsia, a globally recognized brand, is anchored on a shared commitment to deliver value and the best quality service.”
For his part, Philippines AirAsia CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said, “We are honoured to be carrying a homegrown retail brand on the ground and in the skies, extending as far as the whole of Asean region to China, Korea and into the AirAsia Group’s massive network of over 120 destinations.” Puregold has its name wrapped on two AirAsia aircraft.
The first Puregold livery aircraft was officially presented to the public today with a water cannon salute upon arrival at Clark International Airport in a ceremony led by Clark International Airport Corporation President Alexander Cauguiran, Puregold President Vincent Co, Philippines AirAsia CEO Captain Dexter Comendador and Philippines AirAsia Head of Ancillary Business Karlo Sanchez. “We are a sociable and innovative brand. We also take pride of our collaborative nature and this new livery demonstrates AirAsia’s creative approach to partnerships and marketing opportunities especially with companies that support and promote the Filipino brand of excellent service,” Captain Comendador said at the unveiling ceremonies in Clark Airport in Pampanga.
Puregold has 329 stores nationwide. These included 277 Puregold stores, 12 S&R membership shopping warehouse, 23 S&R New York Style fast-food outlets, nine NE Bodega Supermarkets and eight Budgetlane Supermarkets.
AirAsia has 17 aircrafts in the Philippines that operates a fleet of with domestic and international flights out of hubs in Manila, Cebu and Kalibo Caticlan(Boracay), Tacloban, Tagbilaran (Bohol), Puerto Princesa (Palawan) and Clark in the Philippines with international flights to/from Shanghai, Taipei, Incheon (Seoul), Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, and Singapore (via Cebu only). Philippines AirAsia is part of the AirAsia Group that has been awarded the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier for eight consecutive years running by Skytrax from 2009 to 2016.
