Gabay Guro (2G)

PLDT Gabay Guro (2G) brought by PLDT Smart Foundation (PSF) and PLDT Managers' Club Inc. had a successful and biggest-ever tribute to teachers as it celebrates National Teachers’ Month in this year’s Grand Gathering event last October 5 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Over 20,000 teachers from different parts of the country attended this spectacular celebration for free which highlighted by a throwback concert featuring popular celebrities, including Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Derek Ramsey, Jonalyn Viray, Dulce, Rachel Alejandro, Manilyn Reynes, Jessa, Dingdong Avanzado, Iya Villania, Alice Dixson, and many more.

2G has been supporting teachers and students who would like to take up the teaching profession for seven years now. All of 2G efforts are aligned with its six pillars, which are: Teachers’ Training that presents new modules on Emotional Intelligence and IT Literacy and Sustainability; Housing and Educational Facilities; Livelihood Programs; Broadbanding and Computerization of Schools; and Teachers’ Tribute, highlighted by the 2G Grand Gathering.

The Grand Gathering this year also featured the biggest raffle draws, with substantial major prizes that include a house and lot from Camella Homes, a brand new HAIMA car from Laus Group of Companies, an APE Piaggo three-wing van from Auto Italia, 10 PLDT Home Cyberya Internet Café setups, Retailer Phone Kits and Sims from Smart and Sun, and cash prizes.

Among the other raffle prizes are laptops from PLDT HOME Bro, laptop and tablet in-one from Microsoft, electric fan with oven toaster package from Fujidenzo, gift packs from various sponsors, myPad3 from myPhone, Cignal prepaid kits, quad core polaroid platinum tablets from PLDT HOME Telpad, Samsung tab 7, a trip for two to Hongkong, tricycle from Honda Philippines Inc., and a motorcycle from PR Savings Bank.

So far, 2G has awarded around 1,000 scholarship grants to aspiring teachers. It has enabled more than 300 scholars to graduate from its 40 partner schools nationwide. Five of the 2G scholars have continued their quest for higher learning and received Master’s Degree scholarships from the Philippine Women’s University.

In June this year, 2G and PLDT Hong Kong launched a scholarship program for Overseas Filipino Workers’ (OFW) children and dependents. They also sponsored 110 OFW teacher-candidates in their review and venue fees for the Licensure Examination for teachers.

2G and its partners have also donated some 28 classrooms to various public schools in the country, especially those that are located in the calamity-ravaged areas. It was the first organization to build permanent structures in the form of sturdy classrooms after the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that devastated Bohol in 2013. It was likewise one of the first responders in the rehabilitation of typhoon-damaged Leyte.

CARNATION’S MARY’S KITCHEN

MMMMary’s Kitchen is a cooking-serye made by Carnation.  The first in the Philippines, the series features Mary, a newly married housewife, dealing with day-to-day challenges of homemaking.  From cooking delicious new dishes for her husband Mark with the help of her intimidating (but eventually, lovable Mother-in-Law) Carrie to learning tips on how to keep her house in order.

Now on its second season MMMMary’s Kitchen will not only have new recipes and tips, but it will also give you a glimpse of Mary’s life.  You’ll finally see Mark, Mary’s loveable (and funny!) husband, as well as Mommy Eva, Mary’s health-conscious mom.  You’ll also get to meet Bonnie, Mary’s outgoing BFF!

This 10 episode season is going to be full of new recipes and tips from all the different people in Mary’s life.  Check out the episode guide.

1 Home Sweet Home, the Second Time Around!
Mary and Mark move in to a smaller house that is closer to Mark’s office.  Mark’s constant OT at work as well as trying to juggle running a household takes its toll on Mary.

2 We Are Family!
Mary gets a surprise visit from Mark’s mahadera relatives.  She frantically cooks a homemade meal only for it to end up less than perfect.  Luckily, Carrie comes in just in time to transform Mary’s dish into something incredible.

3 When the Budget Budges
The unplanned visit of Mark’s relatives put a dent on Mary’s weekly budget.  She calls up Mark, who is out on a business trip to tell him about the budget issue.  This leads to a slight tampuhan between the two couples.  Mama Carrie visits and gives Mary a tip on how to win Mark’s forgiveness.  She also tells Mary that she’s moving to the States—for good.

4 Peace Offerings
Mark comes back home from his business trip and brings Mary pasalubong as “peace offering”.  The two patch things up and Mary cooks a special dinner with Mark’s favorite dishes.
5 BFF’s forever
Mary’s BFF Bonnie drops by the house for a surprise visit for a quick catch-up. Mary realizes she misses having her best friend around. Mark arrives and talks to the two girls, realizing his wife has missed having a female around. Meanwhile, Mark secretly makes a phone call to a woman. Who could it be?

6 Mother knows best
Mommy Eva comes to visit her little Princess, Mary.  She surprises the couple with her new-age outlook in life.  She bonds with her daughter over cooking, and takes notice of Mark’s constant absence in the household.  She calls this out to Mark, possibly creating tension between them.

7 A New Career?
Mommy Eva encourages Mary to look into selling her crafts. Eva and Mary spend theafternoon with the crafts project while Mark whips up a surprise snack for the girls.  Mark makes peace with his mother in law.

8 A Taste of Sweet Success
Mommy Eva suggests that Mary try and sell her crafts online, just in time for Christmas.  Mary whips up a batch of delicious cookies, that she takes a photo of to post in her blog.  Immediately, people are starting to inquire about her baked goodies making Mary wonder if she still wants to continue with her crafts business.  The whole foray of selling home-made goods made Mary think about what she gave up to be a full-time housewife.

9 Mommy Eva to the Rescue
Mary is juggling orders for her cookie business and has forgotten to plan for her Anniversary dinner with Mark.  Meanwhile, Mark accidentally eats a box of cookies to be delivered, adding to Mary’s stress levels.  Thankfully, Mommy Eva secretly whips up a batch of cookies while Mary was napping.

10 Anniversary Surprise
Mary was able to pull through with her Surprise anniversary dinner with Mark with the help of her Mom and Bonnie. After preparing the meal, she gathers Mommy Eva, Bonnie and Mark for a surprise announcement:  She’s pregnant!

Flawless All-Natural Ultimate White Facial

Flawless proudly introduce the country’s first facial treatment that uses a combination of natural exfoliators, antioxidants and whitening agents to lighten the skin and treat hyperpigmentations, photodamage and premature aging— the All-Natural Ultimate White Facial.

The All-Natural Ultimate White Facial makes use of two powerful ingredients that not only lighten and rejuvenate the skin but help improve its clarity and texture as well—Dunaliella Seaweed and Gigawhite. A unique alga endemic to the Dead Sea, Dunaliella Seaweed is known to contain almost every amino acid that exist in nature and is a powerful skin anti-aging tool, while Gigawhite is a safe skin lightening agent used as a natural alternative to hydroquinone, the world's currently reigning number one skin lightening active.

And since we are on it, we also made use of Kojic Acid and Vitamin C in this treatment to further boost its skin lightening and anti-aging effects.

“With nine in 10 people saying that they see noticeable improvements in their skin’s complexion after the first session, we are very proud of this new treatment. Together with Novexpert, All-Natural Ultimate White Facial lays down the foundation of a new Flawless. One that’s still very pink but green at the same time. And when we say green, we don’t mean just having natural options, but translating that into our operations as well. Expect more green efforts from us in the months to come,” shares our CEO, Rubby Sy.
